Gilley's Complex, known as Gilley's Dallas, is a multi-purpose entertainment and dining complex located in Dallas, Texas. The complex offers nine venues with capacities ranging from 350 to over 3,000. These venues are; the South Side Ballroom, South Side Music Hall, the Loft, Bonnie and Clyde’s, the Lone Star Room, the Brazos Room, the Saloon, the Pasadena Room, and the Federal Reserve Room. The complex was named for country music singer-songwriter Mickey Gilley, who performed at the club.
Former Gilley's owner Sherwood Cryer invented the mechanical bull and the venue was featured in the 1980 movie Urban Cowboy, in which John Travolta, Debra Winger and Scott Glenn take turns riding the mechanical bull.
The bar was founded in 1971 after Cryer discovered Mickey Gilley singing at a club where he was "making so little money he could barely pay his three-member band." The club was named after Gilley who performed at the club, while Cryer was the owner and operator. Gilley's also hosted some of the biggest country music acts of the day, including Loretta Lynn. Gilley's continues to host some of the biggest names in country music including Keith Urban and Travis Tritt.
American President (then-Republican candidate) Donald Trump held a rally at Gilley's on the one-year anniversary of his presidential campaign launch.
